–Not just our rational judgements

–Our personal history

–Distant ancestral past

When passion surges, emotional mind captures the upper hand, swamping the rational mind. That is the classical Folk distinction of ‘Head’ and ‘Heart’. ‘Right in your heart’ – is a deeper kind of certainty than thinking so with rational mind. Gradient of rational to emotional control over mind : more intense the feeling, more dominant the emotional mind and more ineffectual the rational

 

Can Emotions be Intelligent ? ….. Developing Emotional Intelligence !!

While some argue IQ cannot be changed much by experience or education, crucial emotional competencies can be learned and improved upon by children if we teach them. A high IQ is no guarantee of prosperity, prestige or happiness in life. The goal is balance, not emotional suppression; every feeling has its value and significance. Hence Emotional Intelligence. A life without passion would be a dull wasteland of neutrality, cut off and isolated from the richness of life itself
